It had been years of dreaming to do a night shoot with some professional local hillclimbers when my friend Rob Sim from The Effen Search Photography introduced me to professional snowmobiler Jeremy Hanke from Soul Rides Avalanche Education by telling him I had lighting super powers or some fancy equipment. It wasn’t long before all three of us ventured out there in the Revelstoke backcountry to try and get some night pictures. After two days of trials Jeremy felt it had to be now or never to pull off this shot before the season came to an end. I went in fired up that night ready to shoot for the whole night and by midnight we were setup on this ideal hit. Knowing what the BRP Ski-Doo Snowmobile athlete is capable of I knew he was going to go big. With a single powerful flash head setup I hoped my angle was well planned and nervously trusted the years of sports photography trigger acuity I needed to accomplish the right timing. Three, two, one, action!
